Skillful Waterman and Surfski Racer with a Surf Lifesaving background, Richard has had great successes throughout his sporting career and counts his Bronze Medal at the 2007 Australian Titles as his proudest achievement with his Tugun Club mates in the Taplin Relay as a Ski Paddler. He has won the Single Ski Title in South Africa (2008 On Fenn Kayaks Tarpon) & has 2 Silvers (2006 & 2009) together with 2 Double Ski Golds with his partners.

Richard has also gained notoriety as a pioneer through his adventurous nature and curiosity to push boundaries, in late December 2008 he hired a helicopter to document a mission with his buddies off Cape Recife, a notorious point in South Africa, the photos have been spectacularly displayed round the world via CANOE&KAYAK magazine and Surfski.info
